Jesus!

Luke 18:35-43
This story of the blind person that begged has always intrigued me. There are so many things that I have learned from this story, but there is one of the main thing that sticks out today. That is perseverance. The fact is, that the blind person persevered in everyday life, but his perseverance went into hyper drive when trying to get to Jesus. In fact, it is very possible that his experience being a blind beggar prepped him for His encounter with Jesus. I can’t help but to think about what this gentleman’s everyday challenges were. The fact that he was a beggar tells us his probable financial situation. I can’t help but to think about possible comments he may have heard people saying about him, just like today many people look down on people asking for money. I believe that enduring this helped him when he called out to Jesus. I say that because when he initially called out to Jesus, people in front of him rebuked him and told him to be quiet. I like what his response was though. He was even more persistent and cried out louder. I want to stop right there and ask this question. Who or what in your life is trying to prevent you from calling out to Jesus. For us it may not be someone outright suggesting it, but it may be in the form of a distraction.
