The Speed of God

There have been many times in my life that I have chosen to do things the way that I wanted to do it. It's always tempting to do what we would like to do as opposed to hearing what God is saying. Maybe that's because it requires work to hear from God, where we would have to actually listen. We do the same thing in our earthly relationships. We often do not do the work required to advance, repair or even start new friendships. I like oatmeal and when I cook it, I prefer to cook the old fashioned oats, but the weird thing is that I often cook them in the microwave. I don't even take the time to cook them the "Old fashioned way". Whenever I do that, I feel like I am just being lazy. I am just being impatient and trying to get the oatmeal the fastest way possible and am willing to sacrifice the difference in taste. In life, we can't go at our own speed and expect the same results as if we had moved at the speed of God. Verse 23 of the 37th division of Psalm says that the steps of a man are established by the Lord. Let's remember to go at His speed in all things.
