My Hero!

Today is Veteran's Day and while I am thankful that our nation celebrates those that have served in our armed services. This past week I thought about Veteran's Day and I started to feel a bit numb. I have had the privilege of serving our country for over 19 years and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I couldn't help but think that here we have a day set aside to thank our Veteran's, but I'm not a hero. I couldn't help but to think about where my help comes from (Psalms 121:1-2). On any day if I stop at a store on the way home and I am in uniform, there is often a random person that stops me to thank me for my service. My response is usually, "It is my pleasure to serve our nation". If they only knew...It was me that was broken when I entered the military and it was me that God saved and healed. This week reminded me that anytime someone thanks me for anything, that I must remember where I came from and thank God for saving me. My Hero is Jesus Christ, the one who fought the ultimate war...and won! Thanks you for your service, Jesus!
