Are You Asking the Right Questions
You may have heard me mention before, that our culture is becoming more and more self dependent. As we run to self dependency, we are moving further away from community and getting to know each other personally. Even in our everyday conversation we have to be mindful of this. Regarding the people that we love, what kind of questions are we asking them? Are they thought provoking? Do they reach down within their soul? Or are they surface level conversations about the weather and what they ate last night? The most valued conversations that I have had have all included a question from the other person. Questions like,"What have you learned in the last month?" or "What does God say about that". Jesus also asked many questions, but he rarely answered them. These were intentional questions meant to reach the core of the person. One question Jesus asked was, "Where is your faith?" On another occasion he said, "If even the smallest things are beyond your control, why are you anxious about the rest?" These are just 2 of the many questions, but you can see how they make a person think first. Here is a question for us all. What kind of questions are we asking? Or are we just waiting to be asked questions.
