Panting After God

Psalm 42:1-2 reads "As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God." Thinking about this scripture I can't help but to think about a deer in the woods searching and panting for a stream of water. I also can't help, but to think about the possible dangers that the deer would incur while searching for a stream. From my times watching National Geographic, I have learned that any place where water is, there are also danger in the form of predators. This scripture encourages me to long after God (pant) regardless of the impending danger. Not only that, the more I long and run to Him, the closer I get to Him and the closer He gets to me.
