Stay in the Ship
Acts 27:31 - Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, “Unless these men stay in the ship, you cannot be saved"
I think that everyone can relate to the life of Paul in some capacity. This verse alone applies to each of our lives. We all must stay on the boat and stick with the plan that God has given us. In v. 24, Paul told them that "God had granted all who sailed with him" with the word granted meaning to deliver or save. Yet, in v. 30 we find that the sailors were trying to escape the ship's boat that they had lowered into the water. So the very people that were responsible for sailing the ship were trying to jump ship. Have you ever quit on a dream or a vision. Even further, have you jumped ship on a marriage or relationship with family or friends. Relationships are so key to our livelihood and I would encourage everyone to "Stay in the Ship" which means to do it according to God's plan for your life. It's either that or to bail and do what we think is best. Shipwrecks are only bad if we lose sight of God and try to find our own life in the process. the truth is that we can only lose our life when we lose sight of God and try to find our life on our own, but when we lose our life for Christ's sake we truly find it (Matt 10:39). That sound's like we can only find our life by staying on the ship! Staying in the ship does not mean that everyone involved will do so too, but that does not negate the importance for YOU to stay in the ship. Stay in the Ship!
