He Remembers Me! Pt. 2
Today, it is ever more important for us to remember God with all of our heart, soul and mind as commanded by Jesus in Matthew 22:37. And second we must Love our neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:39).
I loved when the centurion sought after Jesus in Capernaum in Matthew 8, when he asked Jesus to heal his sick servant. Jesus offered to go with him to heal the servant, but the Roman soldier told Jesus to simply speak the word and he believes that his servant would be healed. Jesus responded to the centurion by telling him that He has not found any faith such as his in all of Israel. Jesus had to be first amazed that the centurion was making a request for someone else and not himself (The second greatest commandment). It happens in the Bible, but outside of parents requesting for children to be healed, most healings that Jesus gave were for the person themselves. Secondly, the Roman soldier understood authority and who Jesus really was (God). The centurion knew that he himself was under authority and whatever had stricken his servant was under the ultimate authority of Jesus Christ. This helps me remember that God remembers me, and that means everyone that is attached to me is effected. Especially, when we love God with all of our heart, soul and mind and love our neighbors (everyone).
