Close the Book

Years ago my wife and I had our wedding date scheduled and I was notified that I would have to deploy which meant the wedding would have to be postponed. I had dreamed of the day I would get married since early childhood and now I would have to wait even longer. A friend gave me some great advise at the time. He said, "It's ok to tell God that you are hurting, but when you do it remember to close the book. Let Him know about your pain, but also tell Him that you know that He will take care of it." This gave me a deeper insight to prayer. It also helps me to remember that God is bigger than any problem that I could have. He is El Shaddai, The All Sufficient One, which means that you are more than enough. Father, thank you for being the reason I can close the book!
