The Great Wall of Deception Part 1
Right now, there are many people that are upset about the most recent election. No matter how anyone feels, as a country we placed the person in office that is there. And the election of the our president is a reflection on us as a country as a whole. One point of interest is the border wall that some would like to be built. While there may be a divide of those that are for it and those that are against it, we all have walls that are built within ourselves that we need to tear down. Something that is important to note about walls is that they not only keep bad things out, but they also keep good things out. They keep us from giving ourselves out too. In the Old Testament, many walls were built around cities to protect them. Throughout the Bible, it is illustrated how people built walls in their minds. Theses are called strongholds and they can seem innocent at first, but in truth it is sin. A stronghold (wall) doesn't just happen, but it is built and it is started first with a thought. I am reminded of Adam and Eve in Genesis 3. God said that they could eat from every tree in the garden except from one or they would die. Satan gives the thought in her mind by saying, "You won't die". Eve and Adam eventually ate from the tree and that thought was turned to a stronghold and that created a division between man and God, physically and spiritually. They were separated from the Garden of Eden as well as from God. Are there any thoughts that you have that has turned into a strongholds?
