Imitation Cheese Pt. 2
In the last post we identified that the enemy often tries to imitate things of the Lord to entice people to make the wrong decisions. Not only will he try to imitate God, but he will also try to make himself seem tougher than he really is. Let examine Psalm 23 to show what it looks like when this happens. verse 4a reads, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil". In this verse, David is saying that he walks through thee valley of the shadow of death. In this verse it is important for us to know that it is a shadow of death and not death itself. What is a shadow? It is an outline of something, but it is not the thing itself. Since it is not the real thing, then it must be an imitation. In fact, if we look at our own shadows, we would see that it imitates the exact movements that we make. As I sit here typing I can see the shadow of my fingers doing the exact thing that my fingers are doing, but my finger shadows aren't actually touching anything, they're an imitation. The enemy will often try to imitate death. He wants to imitate things that he is not, but we sometimes give him credit for things that we shouldn't. The enemy is not death, but he can imitate it. Shadows have some interesting characteristics. The further they are away from you, the bigger they are, but they also are thinner. While the closer they are to you, the darker and fuller they are, but they are at it's smallest in size. Either way, a shadow can be intimidating if it's the focus. Know that God is with you and allow His rod and staff to comfort you.
