What is Your Nineveh?
The story of Jonah is familiar with many people. Recently, I saw a stage play about the story of Jonah and just had me thinking about some things. Jonah feared going to Nineveh because he knew that if the people there repented that God would forgive them. Like Jonah, out of fear of what the outcome may be, there are times that we refuse or delay to complete a task God has given us. It could be something as simple as calling someone that God puts on heart to spending that much need quality time with a loved one. Either way we all have been disobedient, like Jonah was, at sometime in our life. What is it that causes to have fear and to run away from being obedient to God. What fear is it that we allow to become greater than the fear of the Lord. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Psalm 111:10) and it is that fear that causes us to want to please God. The question is, "What is Your Nineveh"? Can't find one....maybe your Nineveh is you.
