The Fear of the Lord Pt.1

1 Peter 1:14-17 In recent years, I have been enamored with the fear of the Lord. I love how verse 17 says, "conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile". My personal definition of the Fear of God is not to be scared, but to simply not want to disappoint Him. Sometimes we think of the fear of God and some think about it as a terror or cowardice or perhaps our fear for a parent as we grew up. If we think about our parents it may or may not be a healthy fear reference, but when it comes to fearing God in this verse it means one of as reverence. This is why I have come to love the fear of the Lord. Because out of it God is glorified.
