I Need MOJO

If you read the title of this carefully you may have wondered what is MOJO? It probably even sounds like something from a Walt Disney Film project. MOJO stand for "More of Jesus Only". Aha, it all makes sense now. I like reading the news and a site that I read articles at weekly is CNN. Unfortunately, there are times that the title is stretched and taken out of context in order to grab the reader's intention. Although the title is catchy, it is a very true statement and no truth has been distorted. Looking at Luke 10:38-42, we have the story of Martha and Mary when Jesus visited Martha's house. Martha posture reminds me somewhat of the prodigal son's brother found in Luke 15:11-32. It is Martha's house and she is not enjoying her company, which happened to be Jesus. She is too busy trying to keep busy. In vs. 40 she asks the Lord if he cares that Mary has left her to serve alone and Jesus replies that she is anxious and troubled by many things and that Mary has chosen to do the good thing. The brother of the prodigal son failed to realize that he always had access to the house and it was up to him to determine how he spent his time in it. What if Martha waited to act as the hostess or if she had asked Mary to help her finish up so that they both could have time to worship at Jesus' feet? Or what if she just stopped everything she was doing to sit at the feet of Jesus? How are we choosing to spend our time in the house? Are we desiring "More of Jesus Only" like Mary did or are we too busy being busy as Martha was?
